Elvin Charley Crites, Jr.
Junior was born July 21, 1945 in Enid, Oklahoma to Elvin and Rachel Crites. The oldest of three children Elvin had his mother's ornery sense of humor from the beginning and his dad's dedication to hard work. Junior started working at age 8, retrieving golf balls at Oakwood Country Club driving range. Junior would later graduate from Enid High School in 1963, join the Army Reserves, and the National Guard. In 1966 Junior began his 40 year long career at Southwestern Bell where he would eventually meet his soon to be bride Cyndy. Junior and Cyndy met through his work at Southwestern Bell, and after a quick courtship of only three weeks, the two would marry and begin their love story that would span 46 years. The two had their beloved son Jeff in 1982 and later their grandson Charley in 2013, giving Junior the new title of "Gpa." Junior dreamed of owning his own land and cattle and eventually made that dream come true, moving the family to "The Farm" just outside Nash, Ok in 1995. Junior fell in love with farming; he loved his cattle and wide-open spaces. Junior brought light and laughs everywhere he went, frequently entertaining the men each morning at the local farmer's COOP.
Junior loved his family and his farm above all else. His humor and laughter will be missed tremendously. Junior passed at his home surrounded by his wife, son, grandson and daughter in law. The family intends to celebrate his life full of love and humor and asks in leu of flowers to please mail a card with any memory or story you would like to share of Junior. Please mail cards to P.O.
