Richard Mark Jones

A Celebration of Life for Richard Mark Jones will be 2:00pm, Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at the Cimarron Schools Gymnasium with Pastor Scott Maloney officiating. Cremation arrangements and services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Richard Mark Jones went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. He was 70 years old.

Mark was born in Quanah, TX, on February 8, 1953 to Bejamin Franklin Jr. (Frank) and Rosiland Jean Quisenberry Jones. He graduated from Quanah High School in 1971. He went to work for the QA&P railroad in Quanah upon graduation and then transferred to Enid, OK where he became an engineer. He was a longtime resident of Enid and Lahoma where he was well known and loved by his community. He retired from Burlington Northern and later returned to work for Farmrail. After retiring from Farmrail, at the time of his death, he was doing contract work for USG in Southard, OK.

Mark enjoyed telling stories of his railroading years, helping others, working hard, and spending time with his best friend of eight years, Glynda Wehrman, and their many friends! Mark loved his family and they loved him. He was always a favorite at reunions and gatherings!

Mark enjoyed golfing, fireworks and Christmas.

Mark married Kimberly Keithly Dorton on May 22, 1993. She brought to the marriage two daughters, Kathryn and Alyxandra, who Mark loved as his own. Kimberly died on August 19, 2011.

Mark is preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly; parents, Frank and Jean Jones Hawkins; paternal grandparents, Benjamin Franklin and Ersula Word Jones; and maternal grandparents, Willie Raymond and Ollie King Quisenberry.

He is survived by his best friend and companion, Glynda Wehrman, Lahoma, OK; daughters, Kathryn Dorton Milinkovich (Laurence), Stillwater, OK and Alyxandra Dorton Ramos (Brent), Independence, MO; grandchildren, Noah, Caroline, Carson, Ramos and Albert Milinkovich; Sister, Rebecca Jones Watson (Stanley), Quanah, TX, Brothers, Biff Jones (Lynda), Quanah, TX and Gary Jones, Arkansas City, KS. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews, 23 great nieces and nephews who all loved him in all of his orneriness and kindness!

Memorial donations may be made to the Lahoma Police Department or the Lahoma Fire Department 4th of July with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
