-
Darrow has served as an assistant principal at EHS since 2011. He also has extensive experience as a classroom teacher and coach.
-
Dr. Darrell Floyd, EPS Superintendent, said Darrow’s expertise and passion for student success will serve EHS well as the school explores new and innovative ways to meet the needs of all students.
-
“Mr. Darrow’s commitment to excellence has been evident throughout his career – on the field, in the classroom and in school administration,” Floyd said. “He has high expectations for students and staff and knows how to provide support so they can meet and exceed his expectations. I am confident Enid High will thrive under his leadership. This is an exciting time for EHS.”
Darrow said he is honored to take the helm of Enid High, which is one of the state’s fastest-growing high schools.
-
“I am very proud and happy to be named to this position, and I am optimistic about the future of our school,” Darrow said. “Having lived in Enid and worked for Enid Public Schools for the past 11 years, I know the community’s support for education is second to none. Enid High’s students and staff will work hard to properly and positively represent EPS and the town of Enid. ”
-
Doug Stafford, Assistant Superintendent of EPS, described Darrow as a familiar face with fresh ideas, a combination that will help take EHS to the next level.
-
“Mr. Darrow is uniquely qualified for this position. He knows Enid High – its students, its staff and its traditions,” Stafford said. “As a longtime team member he takes pride in the school’s past. Most importantly, though, he is focused on its future. He will strive to raise the bar for success even higher.”
-
Darrow, a Shattuck High School graduate, began his career as a coach and teacher at Mustang High School. In 2005, he joined the EHS team as a mathematics teacher. From 2009-2011, approximately 90% of his students passed the state-mandated End-of-Instruction geometry exam.
-
Five years ago, Darrow became an assistant principal at EHS, where he oversees the school’s master schedule for students and staff, leads Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings, assists with discipline, evaluates and supports teachers, compiles state reports, and more.
-
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, with a major in physical education and a minor in math. He continued his education at the University of Central Oklahoma, where he earned a Masters of Education Administration.
-
Darrow and his wife, Megan, have two children: Dallas and Audrey. They are members of North Garland Church of Christ, where Dudley is a deacon.
-
Darrow succeeds Jim Beierschmitt, who is retiring as principal after more than 14 years of administration at EHS.
