Donna Gertrude Thompson

The Funeral Services celebrating and honoring the life of Donna Gertrude Thompson, 72, of Enid will be held at 9:28 A.M. Wednesday August 21, 2019 in the Evangel Assembly of God Church with Pastor Lester Lowry officiating. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

She was born September 28, 1946 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Jewell and Edith Zero Carson and passed from this life on August 17, 2019 in Enid, Oklahoma.

She was raised and educated in Enid, attending the Booker T. Washington School. She then married Alan Thompson on September 10, 1985 in Enid, Oklahoma and raised her children. She worked for the R/C Cola company for a couple of years. She then home sat for several years. She worked for the State School until retirement in 1998 after twenty years of service. She was a member of the Salvation Army Home League for many years. She liked camping and going to Branson, Missouri where she always enjoyed the shows. She liked amusement parks, crafts and garage sales. Most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grand and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Alan Thompson, of Enid, children Kathy Shrum, of Calera, Oklahoma Sandra Farrell, of Enid, Oklahoma, Tammy Mayorga, of Enid, Oklahoma, LaDonna Urtiz, of Haltom City, Texas, Bobby Shrum II, of Cleo Springs, Oklahoma, and Rebecca Medrano, of Enid, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Robert, Dennis, Rodney, Jessica, Gary, Domingo, Brenda, Antonio, Donna, Margarita, Noel, Yasmin, Saul, Cory, Cody, Kimberly, Raylynn, Miguel, and Keegan, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and grandson, Gary Shelite,

Memorials in her name may be made to the O.U. Medical Center Kidney Foundation with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
