CSRHC Announces Volunteer Training Course

ENID, OK — The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center is starting a volunteer training course, titled “Museum OKademy,” beginning on Saturday, January 15 th at 9:00 a.m. The six-part series, led by Executive Director Jake Krumwiede, Director of Education Neal Matherne, Ph.D, and other Heritage Center staff, will focus on the history of northwestern Oklahoma, the how museums operate, and how volunteers can help museums fulfill their missions. The six-part series begins on Saturday, January 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and continues on the first and third Saturdays of the month until the course ends on April 2nd. Registration in the course is required.

The Heritage Center and Humphrey Heritage Village are open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center is a division of the Oklahoma Historical Society. The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society is to collect, preserve and share the history and culture of the state of Oklahoma. Founded in 1893 by members of the Territorial Press Association, the OHS maintains museums, historic sites and affiliates across the state.
