August 20, 1931 - April 11, 2025
Connie I. Mick, beloved mother, educator, and long-time Enid resident, passed away at the age of 93. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, April 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene in Enid, with Rev. Bill Hane officiating. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Born and raised in Enid, Connie attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School with the Class of 1949. She went on to earn her teaching degree from Southern Nazarene University. On December 18, 1954, she married B.F. Mick, and together they made their home in Enid, where Connie dedicated her career to teaching kindergarten, first, and second grade at Hoover and North Enid Elementary Schools. In 1990, Connie moved to Yukon to be closer to her daughter, Patti.
A lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene, Connie taught kindergarten Sunday school for many years, often with her daughter Patti by her side—a partnership that would inspire Patti to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a kindergarten teacher herself. Creative and talented, Connie loved sewing and making clothes, cross-stitching, gardening, and playing the piano. She also sang in her church choir, sharing her love of music and faith with others.
Connie is survived by her daughter, Patti Mick of Yukon, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband B.F. Mick, her son David, and her sisters Carolyn Ann and Barbara Jean.
