Community Health Fair This Weekend

ENID, OK - Diabetes and Heart health are a major concern within the community. Many people are unaware of the resources available and about things they can do to keep their heart healthy and manage their diabetes.

On March 10th, resource providers are coming together at the Community Health Fair to share information about heart health, diabetes, nutrition, and fitness. A dietician from St. Mary’s Hospital will be giving people information about nutrition. INTEGRIS will be creating awareness of their free Fit Club, as fitness is integral to maintaining heart health and managing diabetes. Rural Health Projects will be giving information about their diabetes outreach initiatives, which include free courses on diabetes self care through behavioural change.
-
Vizavance will be facilitating vision tests for the participants. Participants will have an opportunity to attend a cardio class at 12pm, hosted by INTEGRIS Fit Club and a yoga class at 1pm. Loaves and Fishes will be sharing information about how people can access their food pantry and representatives from the Great Salt Plains Health Centre, Oklahoma Family Network, SoonerCare, and Sonner Success will be available to give information about how people can access their services. Garfield County Health Department will also attend to share information about immunization.
