CoBank Funds Learn-to-Ride Bicycle Program to Hoover Elementary

ENID, OK - All Kids Bike, the national nonprofit teaching kindergarten students how to ride bikes in PE class, is activating their All Kids Bike Learn-To-Ride Kindergarten PE Program at Hoover Elementary, thanks to a generous donation from CoBank.

The ceremony at Hoover Elementary will reveal 24 balance-to-pedal conversion bikes on February 29, 2024 at 7:45 AM and will include a first-ride opportunity for the excited kindergarteners. Hoover is located at 2800 W Maine St, Enid, OK 73703.

CoBank has provided a grant of $9,000 to All Kids Bike for the 2023-24 school year to provide Learn-To-Ride curriculum, teacher training, Strider Balance Bikes, pedal-conversion kits, helmets, a teacher instruction bike, and rolling storage racks to Hoover Elementary.

By teaching bike riding at the entry-level in a public school system, they are providing the knowledge and a positive foundation for a lifelong skill. The All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Program boasts an inclusive, proven Learn-To-Ride curriculum that offers every child the opportunity to experience the joy of two wheels.

All Kids Bike launched in 2018 with a simple mission: to give every child in America the opportunity to learn how to ride a bike in school. Its Kindergarten Learn-to-Ride PE program, which is active in over 1,000 schools across all 50 states, includes everything needed to teach thousands of students at a school for 7-10 years: teacher training and certification; a fleet of 24 bikes, pedal conversion kits, and helmets; an instructional bike for the teacher; 2 rolling metal bike storage racks, and access to a resource portal and live support for the life of the program. With substantial underwriting from the Strider Education Foundation, the All Kids Bike Learn-to-Ride Kindergarten PE Program is on track to teach over one million kids to ride over the 10 year lifespan of the program. In 2023, All Kids Bike added an Inclusive Learn-to-Ride Program to empower middle and high school students and adults with developmental disabilities with the life skill of riding a bicycle.
