Claudia Glasser

The memorial service honoring the life of Mrs. Claudia Martin Glasser, 96, of Enid will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday March 17, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church with The Reverend Andrew Long Officiating. A private graveside will precede the service at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Claudia was born October 26, 1921 in Newnan, Georgia the daughter of George and Claudia Troutman Martin and died on March 9, 2018 at her home.

She moved with her family to New Orleans in the late 1920s and then to Enid where her father purchased the Coca Cola bottling plant of Enid in 1929.

She attended Enid High School, graduating in 1939. She attended Monticello College her freshmen year and then transferred to The University of Oklahoma, where she graduated in 1943. She was a proud member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.

Claudia married Joseph H. Glasser on September 7, 1946 in the First Presbyterian Church of Enid. The couple made their home in Enid where they raised their three children.

She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church serving as Elder and President of the Women’s association. She also was a member of Junior Welfare League of Enid, and a member of Chapter AQ of PEO. She was a founding member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her three children, Steve and his wife Elizabeth (Lish), Joseph M. and his wife Arleyne Colorado Springs, Melanie Mantooth and her husband Gary Edmond; grandchildren Rachel Sargent, Gwendolyn Robeson, TJ Mantooth and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Joseph H. and her two sisters, Ann Edwards Baker and Evelyn Martin Eck.

Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation cancer division, Hospice Circle of Love of Enid, or the Enid Symphony Association with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
