Candidate Filings Open For Ward 1

ENID, OK - Candidates interested in filing for Ward 1 City Commissioner in the City of Enid will file a Declaration of Candidacy form beginning 8 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2024.

Those who wish to file for Ward 1 City Commissioner in the City of Enid must submit a Declaration of Candidacy to the Garfield County Election Board January 29-31, 2024 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Candidate filing packets are available on the State Election Board website or you may pick one up in person at the Garfield County Election Board Office located at 903 Failing Avenue, Enid.

In addition to the Declaration of Candidacy, candidates must also submit a Voter Registration Verification Form, which can be obtained from the County Election Board or by logging into the OK Voter Portal at https://oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp.html. Information on the Voter Registration Verification Form must match the information provided on the Declaration of Candidacy.

Shari Monsees, Secretary of the Garfield County Election Board, reminds candidates that Contests of Candidacy must be filed no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024, and may only be filed by another candidate for that office, unless a candidate files unopposed. Contests against unopposed candidates may be filed by contacting Monsees at the Garfield County Election Board.

Declaration of Candidacy forms can be downloaded from the State Election Board website at Oklahoma.gov/elections or by contacting your Garfield County Election Board Office at 580.237.6016 or email shari.monsees.ctr@elections.ok.gov.

The Garfield County Election Board is located at 903 Failing Avenue, Enid, and is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The special election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
