Kent Rorick is Running for Ward 3

ENID, OK - Kent Rorick would like your vote for City Commission Ward 3. Rorick is the sales manager at Jackson’s auto dealership. He left Minnesota and moved to Enid in 2009 after the ‘08 recession.

In Minnesota, Rorick had run a very successful horse transportation and sales company. He was also a board member of the national nonprofit Pony of the Americas, based in Indianapolis, and served two terms working with hospital administrators, dentists, bar owners and so on.

Rorick now works at Jackson's Auto Dealership and lives in Brookside, located in Ward 3. He is married to Monica Rorick, aka The Queen of Cakes, and they own The Pastry Nook Bakery and Bistro located in downtown Enid on W. Randolph.

Through the years Rorick has written over one hundred articles and published one book. He knows the writing comes easy when you do the research. Serving on City Council is much the same. Rorick has been doing research on becoming a commissioner so his job will be much easier.

"The most important aspect to my job is to listen," Rorick said, "I find out what the customers needs and wants are, and I help them get what they want. I will do the same on the City Council. Listen first, then move forward with what Enid's residents need and want."

"Every job I've ever had was working with people to achieve a goal. I plan to work with the Ward 3 community and bring that input to the City Council," Rorick stated on his Facebook page.

Roads and infrastructure, especially in Ward 3, are hot topics. Rorick would like to find money in the budget to fix roads in his ward. He also would like to attract aviation businesses to Enid. He worked in the aviation industry for over three years and would like the city to be actively looking for businesses in that industry.

Rorick said he would like to see an upscale go-kart track on the east side. He also thinks a Target store would be great. The loss of Sears, Dillard's, and JC Penny's, has left a major retail hole in NW Oklahoma. If elected he will ask to serve on committees, make calls, and do whatever it takes to gain more businesses and opportunities for Enid.
