Calvin Louis Redwine

Funeral services for Calvin Louis Redwine will be 2:00PM, Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Covington United Methodist Church with Rev Tommy Donaldson officiating. Burial will follow in Covington Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Calvin was born June 10, 1934 in Covington to Ernest and Mirenda (Hileman) Redwine and passed away March 28, 2023. He graduated from Covington High School class of 1952. Calvin was drafted into the Army after high school. He served in the 10th Mountain Division overseas. Calvin was an avid gardener and loved to share with others. He was especially proud that he built the house he resided and raised his family. He was a good carpenter and built many things, and had the tools to go with it. Calvin spent five years as a preacher at the Gospel Center. He had a long career in public service, serving on the Texas Highway Department and then as County Commissioner of Garfield County. Calvin worked as a volunteer firefighter for many years. His greatest love was his family.

Calvin is survived by his son, Tim Redwine and wife Linda; daughter, Teresa Ritt and husband Brad; grandchildren, Eric Redwine, Vanessa Redwine and partner Leigh Daly, Kelsie Redwine, Micah Ritt, Makai Ritt; great-grandchild, Hunter Daly; and a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Calvin is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha Redwine; and brothers, Ernest and Thomas Redwine.

Memorial donations may be made to Tri-County Senior Center in Covington with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
