Land Run Steakhouse Opening This Spring

A new locally-owned steakhouse is coming to Enid in the spring of 2018. The name and logo are now being released to the public even as building renovations continue.

Land Run Steakhouse will be located at 3710 W Owen K Garriott Rd., in the former El Chico restaurant location. The Zakuti family, owners of Napoli’s Italian Restaurant in Enid, purchased the building in 2017, starting speculation on what type of restaurant would go into the Garriott location.

Tony Zakuti, who will operate Land Run Steakhouse, says they chose a steakhouse to fill a void in Enid’s restaurant landscape. MORE INFO.

New Downtown Bookstore & Coffee Cafe

Enid has literally been starving for a bookstore after the loss of Hastings and the other bookstores in the mall. It’s beginning to look like there could be a light on the horizon. Coral ‘Kern’ Simon and Becky Bridwell-Gaede are currently working hard to bring a new outlet for book lovers.

A New Chapter Bookstore and Cafe is coming to downtown Enid in 2018. The bookstore and coffee shop will soon be located in the old Gift Box (Larry Black Sporting Goods) location at 232 W. Randolph. MORE INFO.

Enid Kmart To Close in April

Employees at the Enid Kmart were informed on Thursday, January 4 that the store would be closing on April 8, 2018. Sears Holdings is closing a total of 103 Sears and Kmart stores this spring, as it continues to eliminate less productive stores.

The company informed associates at 64 Kmart stores and 39 Sears stores that they would be closing the stores between early March and early April 2018. This list includes store closings in 29 different states. MORE INFO.

Jason Turnbow Joins the Security National Bank Team

Jason Turnbow has joined Security National Bank of Enid as a Vice President in Commercial Lending. Turnbow has been in banking for 15 years with Interbank and brings with him vast knowledge of lending and marketing.

In addition to his work in the banking community Jason holds leadership roles on many community service and civic organizations. He is chairman and past president of the Grand National Quail Club, member of the Grand National Quail Foundation and a class XIX alum of Leadership Greater Enid. He serves as the Ward 2 representative on the City of Enid Special Sales Tax Oversight Committee, Ward 2 Representative on the City of Enid Kaw Lake Sales Tax Oversight Committee.

Mr. Turnbow has served on numerous boards and commissions including; Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center, CDSA, United Way Budget Allocation Team, the Enid Higher Education Council and Enid Air Force Association.

Jason is a graduate of Oklahoma Bible Academy and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Oklahoma State University. He and his wife Torry are active in the Enid community, where they raise their three daughters ages 11, 8 and 4.
