Enid Launching Public Scooters On Monday

ENID, OK - Enid is getting a new mode of transportation! The Bird e-Scooters are set to launch in Enid on Monday, April 19. Users can use a scooter by downloading the Bird app at www.birdapp.com.

Riding a Bird costs $1 to unlock and then 39 cents per minute, plus any applicable taxes. Riders can utilize promo code: BGAQ1Q to get their first ride for free (up to $5).

They're launching with 25 scooters at this time, but plan on adding an additional 50. There are plans to add an additional fleet manager that will also be adding another 75 scooters to the market.

Bird's can only be used within a specific area or they will stop running. The main area is a large square from Willow on the north to Rupe on the south and Van Buren on the west and 30th on the East.

There is also a small active strip that runs along the trail system all the way out to Garland. It also encompasses the area near Meadowlake Park. A map of the working area is posted below.

To start your ride, scan the Bird’s QR code with your app. Get on the scooter and hit the throttle on the right to go and pull the brakes to slow.

Stick to bike lanes, not sidewalks, unless state or local law requires. And when you’re riding past traffic, be sure to follow all street signs and laws.

After your ride, use the kickstand to keep your vehicle upright. Park your Bird away from public pathways for safety.
