Artists Wanted: Painted Gnome Project

ENID, OK - Area artists are invited to paint a 6” ceramic gnome. Remaining Gnomes will be available to crafters at this week's First Friday. They will have them on the library lawn beginning at 6:00pm on a first-come basis.

Gnomes may be painted in any style and should be returned to the library by April 24, as the gnomes will be used throughout the spring and summer for “garden gnome hunting.”

Gnomes will be hidden in area parks and other public places with location clues placed through the library’s social media and posted at the library entrance. Clues may also be placed at businesses located in downtown Enid.

Artists are encouraged to sign and date their work. There will be a virtual gnome art show in May to showcase the art and artists. The gnomes will be on display at the library until chosen for the weekly hunt so library patrons can watch for the opportunity to capture their favorite gnome.

Artists are encouraged to provide a short bio and link to a website or social media account. The artists have naming rights for their gnome and may provide a bio or backstory for their gnome is they wish.

Information packets are available at the service desk or by emailing mholmes@enid.org or calling 580-616-7183.
