Robert Charles Hoffman died on June 25, 2026 in Enid, Oklahoma. He was known as Bob, Doc, Hoff, and Dad by the people who knew and loved him. He was born July 14, 1938, in Winfield, Kansas, to August W. and Clara (Schmidt) Hoffman. Bob graduated from Newkirk High School, Newkirk, Oklahoma, in 1957. He attended Oklahoma Sate University and graduated in 1960. Bob went on to medical school at the University of Oklahoma. He completed his residency in Albuquerque, New Mexico, specializing in urology and helped establish Enid Urology and Associated in Enid, Oklahoma. He and Mary Jo Schaefer were married on June 28, 1963. They later divorced. He married Lisa O’Neill on January 17, 2009.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lisa of the home; his children, Ann Munroe (Scott) of Belton, Texas, Michael Hoffman (Donna) of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Jayne Meyer (Ross) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; as well as grandchildren, Colin Munroe, Keller Munroe, Nathan Hoffman, William Hoffman, Maryn Meyer, and Reid Meyer. He is also survived by his stepchildren Josh O’Neill (Kim) and Ryan O’Neill; granddaughters Shanley O’Neill and Riley O’Neill; Surviving siblings are Pat Robben (Norbert) of Andale, Kansas, Don Hoffman (Diane) of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Mary Holter (John) of Norman, Oklahoma, and Linda Pickel (Billy) of Tiesiding, Wyoming. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were very important to him. Special thanks are given to Bob’s caregivers, Joshua Ancheta, Jonahtan Ancheta and Karen Odum.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, no formal service will be held. A celebration of life will be held August 1, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Oakwood Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorials to Hospice Circle of Love. Those who wish to honor Bob’s memory should do so in a way that reflects the life he lived by caring for others, lending a hand to a stranger in need, taking your grandkids fishing, telling a bad joke, singing an old song, crafting a limerick, or taking a good friend on a hunt. And then, as you crest the next sand plum thickened hill in anticipation, we hope you find your dogs on point.
