The services celebrating and honoring the life of Deborah Dee “Debbie” Legates Riley, 64, of Lahoma, will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday March 28, 2026, in the Brown-Cummings chapel. A visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Friday March 27, 2026, in the Brown-Cummings funeral home.

She was born January 9, 1962, to Dorothy Fern Stranghorner and Wilmer Legates in Ashland Kansas, and was raised by Dorothy and Bruce Shuemake and passed from this life March 18, 2026, in Lahoma, Oklahoma.

She moved to Enid as a child with her family and later to Garber where she attended Garber schools. She moved to Tahlequah and started her family when she married Michael Ward, from this union came three children, Debbie, Bobby, and Patty. She later moved to Blackwell where she met Howard Nibarger, from this union came Rebecca and Derek. She later returned to Enid where she worked as a CMA at the Methodist home and as a home health care provider. She married Rex Riley December 5, 2005, in Bentonville, Arkansas, the couple made their home in Lahoma. She loved all of her animals, especially her dog Lucky and her horse, Cowboy. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting to give as gifts and buying gifts for her grandchildren. She loved to care for others.

She is survived by her husband, Rex Riley, of the home, her Brothers and sisters, her children Debbie Ward, Patty Ward, Rebecca Carr and husband Eric Carr and Derek Nibarger and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son Bobby Ward and her parents Dorothy and Bruce Shuemake.

Memorials may be made in her honor to the Enid SPCA with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
