ENID, Okla. - July 12, 2017 - Leadership Greater Enid is now accepting applications for LGE Class XXVII and the new Youth Leadership Greater Enid program. The deadline for applications is July 21, 2017.

Through the LGE program, Enid area residents who have demonstrated an interest in local issues are selected, challenged and educated through a series of issue-oriented forums and experiences. The program was established in 1990 and is based upon the belief that knowledge is a key element and a prime motivator of leadership.

The program consists of a noon orientation session, a mandatory two-day ropes course retreat, seven day sessions, an overnight state government visit and an evening graduation ceremony. Sessions will target media, Vance Air Force Base, lifestyles, arts, cultures, natural resources, social services, nonprofits, health care, education, economic development, government and law.

Established in 1996, the program shows students and young adults the career and life opportunities Enid has to offer. Participants will be encouraged, applauded and inspired as they kick off their senior year.

Youth Leadership Greater Enid is open to all 2018 high school seniors residing in the greater Enid area. Participants are selected on ability, demonstrated interest in their community and insight for effective leadership.

The program consists of a mandatory two-day session held in Enid Aug. 8-9. Participants are required to attend the entire overnight session.
