Swadley's Bar-B-Q Buys Western Sizzlin Location

-
Western Sizzlin, accepted an offer from Swadley’s Bar-B-Q to purchase the property and land in order to renovate the location into the newest Swadley’s World Famous Bar-B-Q.

Swadley’s representatives had been looking at locations throughout Enid and at one time leaned toward a spot just west of Atwoods. Founder and owner, Brent Swadley, said that each time they had a location in mind, things would fall apart. The only location that continuously felt like a good fit was Western Sizzlin.

Swadleys’ Bar-B-Q is expanding and currently has 7 stores. Their newest eatery is in Ardmore, Oklahoma. In the last 20 years, Brent Swadley has taken his bootleg bar-b-q business from the parking lot of Walmart to a $23 million dollar company.

A typical Swadley’s restaurant can see 800-1200 guests a day. Their core values are God, family and then business. They are dedicated to quality employees, great food, great service and exceeding their guest’s expectations.

Swadley's hopes to open the new eatery in March 2019. Swadley’s is a fast casual bar-b-q restaurant with full service much like Western Sizzlin. The two major differences between the stores will be the food selection and Swadley’s will not be open on Sunday’s. Visit the Swadley’s Website for more store information..

BKD Spreads Christmas Cheer on CPA Service Day

-
Approximately 20 employees from BKD CPAs & Advisors’ Enid office recently volunteered as part of the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants' 5th annual CPA Day of Service. BKD Enid has participated each year and in 2018 served with Stamp Out Starvation (SOS) and YWCA Enid.
-
BKDers started off the day by spending three hours packaging 14,256 meals for SOS, which ultimately will benefit families in Haiti.
-
After lunch, BKD employees shopped for a family of nine they “adopted” through YWCA for Christmas, BKD Enid’s largest such effort to date. They purchased the gifts, wrapping them back at BKD’s office, for children ranging in age from two months to 17 years old as well as the parents. The team then delivered them to YWCA for the family to open on Christmas morning. BKD pooled approximately $1,900 through a silent auction and office fundraising lunches to purchase the gifts.
