ENID, OK - The YWCA will be hosting their first annual Maverick's Breakfast on April 5th from 7:00am - 8:30am at Groendyke Lodge, 1109 West Lake Hellums. This is an opportunity for men in the community to learn more about the effects Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking have on their employees, friends and family members. “Domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking not only impact the victim; these crimes impact the entire community. Our first annual Maverick’s Breakfast is an opportunity for men to join us in taking a stand against domestic violence and sexual assault in our community,” said Debbie Wilczek, Executive Director.

There is not a ticket price associated with this event, but men will be asked to make a tax-deductible donation of $50 or more during the event. Funds raised during the event go towards providing emergency shelter, counseling, and advocacy to victims in our community. You can RSVP by emailing dwilczek@ywcaenid.com.

About the YWCA annual sponsorship drive:
-
Each year in March the YWCA asks for the community’s support. This year they have set their goal at $100,000. “We have more than doubled our goal this year. With some new strategies in place, we are looking forward to our biggest campaign yet,” said Wilczek.
-
Annually held in March, the sponsorship drive allows the YWCA to continue to provide free emergency services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, the SANE program, as well as quality youth programs such as the annual Girl Power Rally, Project Cinderella, and Racial Justice Program. These services impact an average of 1,426 individuals each year.
