Graveside service for Yvonne Thompson Wampler, 87, will be Monday, December 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Maxwell Meier officiating. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory, Enid.
Yvonne was born on May 8, 1938 in Enid, Oklahoma to David and Frances (Droke) Melville and passed away December 18, 2025 in Oklahoma City.
She grew up in Enid and Carrier, graduating from Carrier High School. Yvonne married Delton Peterson and they had four children. In the 1970s she moved back to Enid and got her realtor license. Yvonne worked for many years at Nicholas Realty. She was also an office manager for Northup. Yvonne married Howard Thompson, Sr and after his death in 2005 she married Wayne Wampler. They made their home in Moore, Oklahoma.
They enjoyed RVing, spending winters in Texas and summers in Colorado. Yvonne enjoyed going on many cruises.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Thompson Sr; children, Ricardo Peterson, Mickey Peterson, and Lea Weins.
Yvonne is survived by her husband, Wayne; son and wife, Tony and Gina Peterson; grandsons, Zachary and Levi; many step children; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to OMRF-Breast Cancer or Alzheimer’s.
