Wymer Brownlee Building Relationships For 50 Years

ENID, OK - When Wymer Brownlee Wealth Strategies opened its Enid headquarters in the early 2000s, Chief Executive Officer Kyle Brownlee knew there was a lot to be learned from the local business community. One of his first initiatives was to create an advisory board composed of savvy business leaders, and long-time family friend Gary Hulse was tapped to serve.
-
Gary is the owner of Gary Hulse Wardrobe Management, and Wymer Brownlee’s founder, Deane Wymer, was a client of Gary’s in the 1980s. Before Kyle worked for Deane in Fairview, Oklahoma, he worked in the men’s department of Gary’s clothing store in high school. Today, Kyle counts Gary a friend and mentor, and he remains one of Gary’s best customers.
-
“I’d always admired Kyle’s talent, style and entrepreneurial spirit,” said Gary. “He created the advisory board to brainstorm and bounce ideas off of us, and if we contributed in any way to what Wymer Brownlee is today, I’m very proud to have been involved.”
-
By serving on Wymer Brownlee’s advisory board, Gary became familiar with the firm’s comprehensive services and integrated financial advice, which resonated with his own approach to business.
-
“I’m a believer that you can’t do your best work for people unless they’re willing to let you do a comprehensive consultation – whether that’s for their personal wardrobe or financial life,” Gary said. “It can be hard to move firms if you’ve worked with a CPA or financial advisor for a long time, but ultimately, I knew and trusted the team at Wymer Brownlee and felt they were equipped to offer more strategic advice because they understood all aspects of my finances.”
-
After serving on the advisory board, Gary moved his taxes and investments to Wymer Brownlee. He remains a client today thanks to the firm’s holistic advice and individualized approach to portfolio management.
-
“I see a lot of value from my partnership with Wymer Brownlee,” said Gary. “In a business as personal as finances and a community as close as Enid, it’s my relationships with the team at Wymer Brownlee that I appreciate most.”
-
2019 marks the firm’s 50th year in business, and clients and community partners gathered at Wymer Brownlee’s downtown headquarters on Jan. 15 to celebrate the occasion.
