William "Bill' Hemstreet

William Herbert Hemstreet, 86, passed away November 8th at home under the care of his wife and the wonderful staff from Hospice Circle of Love.

He was born March 30, 1931 in Illinois and adopted as an infant by his birth father's sister, Mabel Bradley Hemstreet and her husband Herbert Hemstreet and was then raised and educated in Oak Park, Illinois and graduated from Oak Park High School in 1949.

He married the love of his life, Sandra, March 3, 1962.

Bill enjoyed model railroading, photography, and fishing with his children.

He worked as an over the road truck driver for more than 40 years. He also test drove cars for General Motors at their Desert Proving Grounds in Arizona for 10 years

Bill is survived by his wife Sandra and their four children Scott, Matthew, Mitzi, Brett, and five grandchildren, two dogs, and one cat.

A Celebration of his life will be held in Texas, per his request.
