A Mass of Christian Burial for Wilbur M. Schneider age 100 of Enid will be 10:00 am Monday, March 9, 2020 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Mark Mason officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. The casket will be open for viewing Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, March 1-3, 2020. Wilbur’s request was to be cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Wilbur was born May 9, 1919 in Goddard, Kansas to Matt and Francis (Simon) Schneider and passed away February 27, 2020 at the Greenbrier Nursing Home. He married Alvina Rose May on August 12, 1941 and she passed away January 10, 1995. They moved to Enid in 1957 from Garden Plain, KS. Wilbur worked as a maintenance Engineer for St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Central Christian Church and the Enid State School. He was a member of St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital. Wilbur was known for repairing clocks. He married Donna Boyle in December 1996.

Wilbur is survived by his wife Donna, daughters; Carol (Wendell) Gray of Oklahoma City and Ginny (Jack) Wagner of Enid and, son Ken(Pat) Schneider, 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; sister Lila Pedersen of Derby, KS, three stepsons; Tom Boyle, Gary Boyle, and Randy Boyle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alvina, three sisters and three brothers.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.

    To the family, I offer my most sincere and heartfelt condolences. I was blessed to know Wilbur as a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital and we shared many laughs at my “Poor, pitiful attempts at speaking German.” with him.
