Wilbur Lavon Pitts

The Homegoing service celebrating and honoring the life of Wilbur Lavon Pitts, 66, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday September 29, 2020 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wilbur Flynn officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday September 28, 2020 in Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Wilbur was born November 23, 1953 to Eugene Pitts and Beverly Patterson in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life September 21, 2020 in Enid, Oklahoma.

He was raised and educated in Colorado graduating from Coronado High School with the class of 1972 where he was a star football and basketball player. He was married in Colorado, from that union came three children, Cameron, Andre, and Michael. He Married Kathy Hawk September 20, 1985 in Enid, OK and from that union came two children, Jesse and Samantha. He was a chef at various restaurants and owned his own for some time. He was most recently employed at Tyson foods for six years. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, visiting casinos, and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Pitts, of the home; children, Andre and Treva Pitts, of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jesse Pitts, of Enid, Samantha Pitts, of Enid, Adrian and Brandon Randles, of Bixby, Oklahoma; his father, Eugene Pitts, of Enid, sisters Earlene Pitts, of Aurora, Colorado, Elaine Terrell, of Hennessy, Karylen Hickerson of Oklahoma City, Cathy Tomlinson, of Washington DC; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother Beverly Patterson, two sons Michael Pitts and Cameron Pitts, three brothers, Tyrone Reed, J.R. Reed, and Earnest Smith.
