What to Watch This Fall: Silo (TV series)

In a post-apocalyptic future or an alternative present, the setting is an enormous bunker spanning 144 floors. For over a hundred years, the last 10,000 survivors have called this place home. Authorities claim that the outside air is toxic, making going to the surface a deadly endeavor. Dissent is punished, obedience is rewarded. The moment anyone in the population begins to question the rules set by the Legal Department, they risk being sent for "cleansing," an irreversible execution procedure during which the accused must leave the bunker forever and breathe the poisoned air. However, one day, a representative from the Computer Department discovers a "relic" capable of unveiling the terrifying secrets of a time when people could still live on the surface. Could it be that the bunker's residents will finally learn what happened to humanity?

"Silo" is one of the most gripping science fiction series of our time. It was created and written by Graham Yost ("Speed," "The Pacific") and is based on the book series by author Hugh Howey. The creators expertly build suspense, never allowing the viewer a moment of respite. Every new character could become the main focus or meet their demise within the next few minutes. The one constant is the heroine, Rebecca Ferguson's Juliette. She will repeatedly navigate threats and prohibitions to ultimately uncover all the secrets and offer humanity what it deserves — truth.
