He attended Pioneer High School, leaving before graduation to enlist in the United States Army Air Corp in 1945.

On July 31, 1947, Vincent married his High School sweetheart Marcella Krejci. After completing his schooling he and marcels came back home to operate the family farm. Along with the annual wheat crop he raised registered Brangus cattle soon after this breed was first developed. The lifestyle of the farm allowed him to pursue his love of flying. He bought his first plane as a wreckage that he had to rebuild from the ground up. For many years he and Marcella would buy wrecked planes and totally rebuild them to sell. In later years, he also started an aerial spraying service and flew countless hours serving the local farmers. He always had a plane handy so he could fly anytime he wanted.

Vincent and Marcella worked on the family farm raising their crops, cattle and seven children. After 72 years, they were still living at home on the farm. In later years, Vincent enjoyed going polka dancing and belonged to the Oklahoma Polka club of Yukon, OK where he and Marcella spent many Saturday nights dancing and visiting with friends. On both their 50th and 70th anniversaries they sponsored a polka dance to celebrate with family and friends. He was a lifetime member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bison.
