The funeral service for Thomas Floyd Ogburn will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the Hoover Building on the Garfield County Fair Grounds under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Viewing will begin Sunday at 8am at the funeral home.

Tom was born January 9, 1944 in Enid, OK to Arlie Miles and Lillian Ruth (Spaulding) Ogburn and passed away August 29, 2019 at his home in Burlington, OK.

He was raised and attended local area schools, graduating from Enid High in 1962. In 1963, Tom enlisted in United States Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam Conflict. He joined the Enid Fire Department in 1968, serving the Enid community until his retirement in 1988. During that time he also owned and operated Tom Ogburn Construction. After his retirement, Tom went to work for the Department of the Interior for the Fish and Wildlife Service. Later in life he became the Property Manager for Jack Crissup Properties. Tom married Cheryl Kay Chrisman Tarr on February 2, 2019 at the Refuge in Byron, OK.

Tom enjoyed cooking for family and friends, hunting and anything that got him outdoors, but his true passion was fishing. Tom was a great husband, father and friend. He will be missed by many.

Tom is survived by his wife, Kay; son, Rusty and his wife, Jennifer of Kaw City, OK; sister, Arlis Jen of Lago Vista, TX; and his beloved dog, G.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his adored dogs, O.D. and Rascal.

Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the Alfalfa County Rural Fire Department with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.
