Mass of Christian burial for Teresa Taylor, 73, will be Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Reverend Mark Mason celebrant. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with family will be Wednesday evening at 5:00 PM followed by recitation of the rosary at 6:00 PM at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory with Deacon Kevin Winter presiding.
Teresa was born on November 17, 1952, in Enid, to George and Frances (Taylor) Whaylen and died on July 23, 2026, from complications of multiple myeloma, with her family by her side.
She graduated from Garber High School in 1971 and then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where she met her husband, Bob. On August 11, 1973, she married Bob Taylor in Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Teresa and Bob were blessed with six children. She spent her days raising her children and supporting their many activities. Teresa was a leader in Cub Scouts, Camp Fire, and 4-H. She also volunteered as a Sunday school teacher.
When the kids were all in school, Teresa returned to college to finish her degree in education. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1994 and worked as a special education teacher for Enid Public Schools. Her years at Oklahoma State also sparked a lifelong love of the Cowboys and the color orange.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Don Whaylen and Jim Whaylen; her husband; and her grandson, Peter Taylor.
Teresa is survived by her children and their spouses, Eli and Kristen Taylor, Rob and Kate Zerbe, Patrick and Ryn Taylor, Robert and Sarah Taylor, Jon and Marianne Mills, and Mark and Maggie Ohnesorge; 36 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and Larry Skidmore; other relatives; and many friends.
