Stanley Newell Jenkins was born December 28, 1931, to Bill and Dora (Green) Jenkins. At an early age the family moved from a farm northeast of Garber to Enid, where he attended Adams, Harrison, Emerson, and graduated from Enid High School in 1949.

He married Wynoma Langkiet in 1951, and four children were born to this union: Pamela, David, Jerome and Seth. Following military service in the USAF during the Korean Conflict, Stan returned to Enid, continuing his education at Phillips University, receiving a Bachelor of Science and Masters Degree in Education. He taught English and Bible History at Enid High from 1959 – 1967, and served as assistant principal from 1967 – 1972 while continuing coursework at Oklahoma State University.

In 1972, Stan accepted a position as Special Services Director for the Enid District, managing the transportation department and directing the media section. He then was asked to develop a public information office for the Enid schools. In 1982 he was assigned to develop the personnel department, serving in that capacity until his retirement in 1997. He also was on many community boards, including several terms as chairman of the PEGASYS Board.

On February 14, 1986, Stan married Marilyn P. Rider, and they enjoyed many years together. His life career also included the church ministry, serving as pastor (or on staff) at churches in Ames and Enid, plus assisting area congregations on an interim basis. His love for Bible truths motivated him to study and share with others the blessings of Christianity.

Left behind to carry on his witness are his precious wife Marilyn, of the home; daughter Pamela Kay Jenkins of Enid; three sons, David and wife Linda of Enid, Jerome and wife Darla of Drummond, Seth and wife Lee Ann of Enid; step-daughter Melanie Christophel and husband Dan of Fairland; step-son Kevin and wife Laura of Pilot Point, Texas; eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother Ervin of Santa Rosa, California; two sisters, Shirley and husband Jerry of Lenexa, Kansas, and Dorthy of Bethany; his church families and a host of friends, neighbors, and former students.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Eula Jenkins, and brother-in-law Clay Lynch.

Memorials may be made to Salvation Army, FEBC (Far East Broadcasting) a missionary organization preaching the gospel through radio to listeners around the world, Hospice Circle of Love, or Victory Bible Church Radio Ministry. Condolences online at www.andersonburris.com.
