Scott West

March 28, 1961 - November 9, 2022

The funeral services for Russell "Scott" West, 61 year-old Enid resident, are 2:00PM Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Central Christian Church, with Reverend Susan Payne officiating. A come and go visitation with family is 6-8PM in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 14, 2022. He will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Scott was born March 28, 1961 in Enid to Charles and Shirley (Schulz) West and passed Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at his home. Charles was in the Air Force, and Scott attended various schools in the US and abroad before returning to Enid and graduating from Pioneer with the class of 1979. He then attended Central State University where he obtained his BS in Computer Science Technology. After graduation, he began working at Vance Air Force Base, where he worked through the ranks to become Network Control Center Supervisor. He worked at Vance for over 30 years. He later worked with Chisolm Broadband as technical support.

On March 27, 2008, Scott married Sharon Sneddon. He was an active member of the Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association, also known as the "River Rats", and an avid supporter of their foundation. He started attending the Reno Air Races with friends in 1992 and rarely missed a year. He was an avid reader, woodworker, and aerobatic pilot.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon of the home; mother, Shirley of Enid; sister, Debbie and her husband, Greg Diehl of Norman; daughter, Courtney and husband, Dr. Nick Keeling of OKC; three stepdaughters, Starla and partner, Dana Sneed of Enid; Sheena and husband, Scott Johnson of Holdenville; Caitlin and husband, David Brown of Wewoka; seven grandchildren, Devon, Stardan, Phoenix, Baelyn, Claire, Shilo, and Lucas as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles and brother, Lynn.

Memorials may be made to Folds of Honor, Pioneer-Pleasant Vale Academic Foundation or Central Christian Church through the funeral home.
