Sara H. Overbey, 73, of Dexter, left this earth on Nov. 6, 2016 surrounded by loved ones in Crowder, Okla. Cremation has been effected.
Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Lawn Chapel in Arkansas City. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn.

Sara was born Oct. 16, 1943 in Caney, Kansas to Dean and Iola Artherton. She was raised in Peru, Kansas, most of her life, graduating from Peru High School in 1961.
Sara worked as a loving mother, CNA, private duty nurse and in a Cafe her entire life until retiring due to health issues.
Some of her favorite past times included spending time with her family, gardening, sewing and traveling with her sister Linda.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Dena Sue Overbey, and her sister Cathy Sherman.
Sara is survived by her sons Merle Overbey, and wife Paula, and Jimmy Overbey, all of Dexter; her daughter Linda Capps and companion David Hutson, Crowder, Okla.; her brothers Jimmy Artherton, Porum, Okla., Jack Artherton, Coffeyville, and Michael Artherton, Havana; her sisters Kay Walker, Peru, and Linda Daniels, Dexter; six grandsons, two granddaughters, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
