Ruby Dewey McNutt (Rader)

May 12, 1934 - October 27, 2022

Graveside service for Ruby McNutt, 88, will be Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 10 AM at Forrest Cemetery. Forrest Cemetery is located 5 1/2 miles west of Ringwood and 1 mile south of US Hwy 412. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 6:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Ruby was born on May 12, 1934 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Forrest Acorn and Effie Ruth (Wallace) Rader. She passed away peacefully on October 27, 2022 at her home with her family by her side.

She grew up 12 miles east of Enid on the family's dairy farm. After graduating in 1952 from Enid High School, Ruby went to Enid Business College. She was a bookkeeper and proofer for many years at Central National Bank. Ruby later worked at Bank Lumber Company and then as Office Manager for Cox & Overstreet Construction.

Early in life, she married Wilburn A. Dewey and gained a bonus son, David B. Dewey. Later, she was blessed with her two sons, Richard A. and Roger W. Dewey. Ruby would travel with her husband for his out of state commercial tile work. They once spent a year in southern California. Another job took them to Missouri. In 1966, they ended their union.

On November 29, 1990, Ruby married Jack D. McNutt in Las Vegas, Nevada and gained another bonus son, Shelby V. McNutt. When Jack retired from Union Texas Petroleum, he utilized his CDL to haul goods around the state with Ruby riding shotgun every mile of the way. After a few years of trucking, they decided to start enjoying their retirement. They summered at Canton Lake, Oklahoma and wintered in Donna, Texas for 22 years making many memories. Ruby enjoyed travelling, cooking, fishing and spending time with friends and family.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. McNutt; her parents, Forrest A. and Effie Ruth Rader; her sister Nikki Newkirk; her brother Wallace R. Rader and her bonus son David B. Dewey.

Ruby is survived by her two sons, Richard A. Dewey and Roger W. Dewey; her bonus son Shelby V. and his wife Dana J. McNutt; her sister, Bonnie R. Booth; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
