RSVP’s Senior Social Center

-
For more than 35 years, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Enid and North Central Oklahoma, Inc. (RSVP) has been an advocate for seniors, dedicated to giving voice and leadership opportunities to the over 990 senior volunteers in Garfield, Grant, Noble, Alfalfa, and Major counties who help bridge the gap between those who need and those who give.  RSVP is the largest organization in the aforementioned counties volunteering for solutions for seniors and other community based needs.
-
The RSVP program and the business community of Enid have shared ideas and information in three focus groups. This has forged vital links between nonprofit senior organizations, attorneys, doctors, and other social service employers, and has recruited a group of business leaders who have already volunteered to maintain programming and logistics to open its doors to the new RSVP Senior Social Center.
-
The RSVP Senior Center has reopened the program to meet the needs and desires of the aging baby boom generation. RSVP’s Senior Center is developing new programs and opportunities for this dynamic generation of older adults.  With the accelerated growth of the older adult population comes the distinct challenge of ensuring access to health care and opportunities for social engagement. Strengthening the link between transportation and community-based support services is critical for improving the quality of life for the aging population and in building more inclusive, livable communities.  Their solution is the RSVP Senior Social Center.
-
The RSVP Enid Senior Social Center offers a wide variety of programs and services, including:  Meal and Nutrition Programs, Information and Assistance, Health, Fitness, and Wellness Programs, Transportation services, Public Benefits Counseling, Employment Assistance, Volunteer and Civic Engagement Opportunities, Social and Recreational Activities, Educational and Arts Programs, and Intergenerational Programs.
-
The Center’s services are intended to foster the connection between older adults and community-based services.   The Center is located at 202 W. Walnut and is currently open from 9am – 4pm Monday thru Friday.
