Robert Dwayne Rummel

April 18th 1953 - July 14, 2022

Robert Dwayne “Duke” Rummel was born April 18th 1953 and passed on from this earth on July 14th 2022. He was the first born of Matt and Mary Rummel and one of four siblings. He was born in Loveland, CO, and relocated to Enid, Oklahoma with family in his teenage years. From there he spent a lot of time working in the oilfields of northern Oklahoma. In his mid 20’s, he met and married Deborah Whittington, whom he had two children with. After the boom went bust in the mid 80s, he relocated his family to North Carolina, where he found work delivering propane. He moved back to Oklahoma in the 90s to be closer to family. Duke was an astronomer, he loved looking at the stars. He loved sailboats and aircraft. He was a hunter, carpenter, gardener, woodsman, sailor, boat builder, truck driver, mechanic, novice brew master, mad scientist, and self-taught engineer, but most importantly, Father and Papa.

Duke loved his children and even more so his grandchildren. Family was most important and in his final days got to see and spend time with his great-grandchildren. He was a beloved son, father, brother, cousin, Papa, and friend.

Surviving are his mother, Mary Rummel, Sister, Robin Rummel, Brother, Doug Rummel, all of Enid, Ok. His children, Daughter Katie Brown of Enid, Ok, Son, Pike Rummel and Wife Gena of Enid, Ok. Step daughter, Sunny Decker of Florida. Grandchildren- Oakley, Damien, Chloe, Scout, Charli, Cashion, Ritchie, Isaaha, Andrew, Cody, Corbin, Robbie, Kendie, Berto, Bradley, Brendon, Blake, and Isabella. Great-Grandchilden- Landen, Logan, Paisley, Ava, and Adrian. Nephews- Nick, Nathan, and Connor. Nieces-Nitausha and Randy. As well as many cousins, and extended family members through marriage.

Preceeded in death by his Grandson, Elijah Rummel, Father, Matt Rummel, and Sister Debbie Lee.

Memorial services will be posted at a later date.
