Regina “Gina” Marie Yates Bush was born on June 30, 1963 in Houston, Texas to Elzner Roy Yates and Virginia (Cisi) Marie Bateman and passed away on January 23, 2024 in Oklahoma City.

She grew up in Enid and graduated from Chisholm High School. Gina was a waitress at Willow Inn and City Boots, owner of Last Honkey Tonk, and a data input specialist at Marsau. Gina was great at playing pool and loved to listen to music on her computer. She enjoyed singing karaoke, playing poker with the family and going to the casino. Gina liked to watch Dr. Phil and the Bachelor. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, she and her three sisters worked at the Navajo Drive-in. On July 12, 2008, she married Roland Bush. Gina was a loving daughter, wife, a nurturing and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Despite the hardships she faced in life, it never wavered her faith. She taught her children the Lord’s Prayer at a very young age and they said it together every night before bed. Gina was always very independent and always strived for better. She had a very strong and compassionate, yet feisty spirit that was contagious to everyone she came across. She loved going to the lake over the years with her family and close friends. Gina was blessed to have two loving and supportive men as her children’s fathers and they had always remained friends and great co-parents. Gina lived a full, adventurous life and she fulfilled the dreams that were most important to her. Her memory will live on through her loved ones and she will be dearly missed by many. Her dance on earth is over but has just begun in Heaven.

Gina was preceded in death by her father; mother; sister, Mona; nephew, Mark; grandparents; many aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her husband, Roland; children, Hayleigh Yates, Harley Harmon, Christopher Bush, Darcy Pearce; nine grandchildren Havyn, Olive, Hudson, Corbin, Riley, Luke, Roman, Cece and Jude; brother, Lyn Canady; sisters, Carolynn Frye and Gigi Bell; aunt, Marty Fisher; niece, Mirisa “Missy”; nephews, Brandon, Matthew, Andrew, Cobe and Samuel; other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Gina Yates-Bush Go Fund Me account. Family dinner will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm at the Elks Lodge, 700 W. Oxford.
