Paul Minnett Hoover

Funeral services for Paul Minnett Hoover, 76, Hennessey, will be Friday, February 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Hennessey with Pastor David Jones officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Hennessey Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Paul was born on June 26, 1940 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, the son of Henry Minnett and Opal White Hoover, and passed away peacefully at his residence on February 6, 2017. He was raised in Arcadia and Andover, Kansas by his aunt and uncle Carl and Ada Medley from the time he was six weeks old. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Andover. Paul married Winifred Earlene Landaker in Andover, Kansas on May 29, 1958. He was a lifelong truck driver moving to Hennessey in 1960. Paul and Earlene traveled and moved back to Hennessey in 1976. He was owner and operator of Hoover Trucking. Paul was also a trader and truck salesman for Paul Hoover Truck Lot in Hennessey.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Earlene of the residence, Sons, Richard Hoover of Watonga, David (Connie) Hoover of Watonga, John Hoover of Hennessey; daughter, Susie (Bill Johnson) Hoover of Enid; sister, Beatrice Martin , sister-in-law, Retha Hoover, both of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Dale (Michelle) Hoover of Enid, Oklahoma. Rebecca (Rob) Williamson of Boonville, Arkansas, Shawn (Sammy) Crissup of Ames, Oklahoma; thirteen great-grandchildren; special pets, Rascal and Lady. Paul was preceded in passing by his daughter, Roberta Kay, brothers, JL, John, Carl, three infant siblings. Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.
