This will be a celebration of 2016, a new start for 2017, and a way for the community to become familiar with, and support the Gaslight Theatre during their 50th anniversary.

The event takes place from 8:00pm to 12:30am at the CNB Center, 301 S. Independence. Sponsors of the event are Wymer Brownlee, Park Avenue Thrift Enid, and Rick's Pharmacy.

The Gaslight Theatre was founded in 1966 under its original name of Enid Community Theatre. Gaslight is one of Oklahoma's oldest and most active community theatres. Gaslight's mission is to promote and present theatrical productions for the education, enjoyment and literary enlightenment of the Enid area. What makes Gaslight successful is a great deal of work by volunteers, both onstage and backstage,and wonderful support from community residents who give both their resources and their applause to the effort.

As with most entities that have been around for 50 years, the theatre is in need of updates to the facility to make it more accommodating to the public. The goal during the 2016-2017 season is to raise enough money to replace the chairs in the theatre, and to remodel the lobby and the box office. This New Year's Eve event is their kick-off to a year of fundraising.
