ENID, OK - It’s that time of year again when rolling up your sleeve means more than just cooling off in the summer heat. The 17th Annual Enid Community Challenge Blood Drive is coming up Wednesday, July 30th, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Stride Bank Center.
Sponsored by Our Blood Institute (OBI), the blood drive challenges local civic organizations to see who can bring in the most blood donations. This year’s competitors include Junior Welfare League, Enid AM Too AMBUCS, Enid Noon AMBUCS, Enid AM AMBUCS, and the North Enid Lions Club.
“Help Enid AM TOO AMBUCS win bragging rights and change lives,” said an enthusiastic member of the group. “Your donation helps OBI and also helps us buy Amtrykes for those who need them – it’s like giving two gifts with one pint.”
And yes, if you need extra motivation to part with your pint, there will be fresh homebaked cookies waiting for you. Rumor has it they taste even sweeter knowing you just saved up to three lives.
Just remember, the average adult has about 10 pints of blood. Giving one won’t hurt your odds of surviving the Oklahoma heat – but it will help someone else survive their own battle.
Be sure to tell the folks at the blood drive that you are representing Enid AM TOO AMBUCS when you check in.
Come bleed for a cause… it’s the only time losing a pint makes you a hero.
