ENID, OK - The Oklahoma Blood Institute is putting on their 11th Annual Community Challenge Blood Drive. This blood drive was started to help fill a need in the summer. When high schools, technology centers and colleges are out for the summer, they struggle to meet their daily need of 1200 blood donors each day in the state of Oklahoma. The blood drive is on Wed. For this event blood drive, civic groups compete by earning points – they earn points through learning about Oklahoma Blood Institute and blood donation, advertising the need for blood donors, and getting donors to sign in the day of the event under their civic group’s name.

The top 3 civic groups who earn the most points will earn cash prizes (courtesy of the NWOBI Board) to help with the good they are doing in the community. This is a win-win partnership, OBI gets the blood donations they need for local patients, and civic groups get money to support their causes in our community!
