Michael Joseph Goodpasture, 63, of Enid, Oklahoma passed away on January 19, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 26, 1961 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky to Harold and Madge (Geier) Goodpasture. Michael graduated from Enid High School in 1979, then went on to Northwestern Oklahoma State University, earning a Bachelors of Education in History Education. Michael married Heather Kay Groom on January 5, 1996 at Bible Baptist Church in Enid, Oklahoma, and were lovingly married for 29 blessed years.
Michael was a Sign Technician for the City of Enid for 30 years. Mike also was a part of the City of Enid’s local chapter of the AFSME union during his tenure; serving as their chapter’s president for many years leading up to his retirement in 2018.
Michael was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Enid for most of his life. He was faithful through his many years, volunteering and helping the church anyway he could. He especially had a heart for the children’s ministry; from driving the Sunday School bus every week to teaching Sunday School classes, Mike loved shaping young children in the ways of the Lord and watching them grow.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Heather of Enid Oklahoma; son, Jacob Goodpasture of Enid, Oklahoma; daughter Katie (Goodpasture) Carr and husband Kelley of Fayetteville, Arkansas; sister Sherri (Goodpasture) Bell and husband Jimmy of Enid, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his church family.
Preceding Michael in death are his parents, Harold Goodpasture and Madge Goodpasture, and sisters: Linda Yerian, Barbara Williams, and Carol Mock.
Funeral services will be held in the Bible Baptist Church Sanctuary Thursday January 23, 2025 at 10 am.
