Matt Damon To Film Movie In Coyle

COYLE, OK - Movie crews have been looking throughout Oklahoma over the last few weeks for locations to shoot Matt Damon's upcoming movie 'Stillwater,' and Coyle, Oklahoma will be a prime location.

Work is already being done to make the town's Main Street look like it was hit by a tornado. Casting has also begun to find stand-ins and extras.
-
Variety magazine reported that the Academy Award winning actor will portray an oil field worker in the upcoming movie drama called 'Stillwater.' The film is directed by Tom McCarthy, who also directed the Best Picture winner 'Spotlight.'
-
The movie follows an “oil-rig roughneck” from Oklahoma, played by Damon, who travels to Marseille in France to visit his estranged daughter who has been convicted of a murder she claims she did not commit. Confronted with language barriers, cultural differences, and a complicated legal system, the man is determined to free his daughter, according to Variety.

The feature film has already begun production in Oklahoma. A release date has not been announced and it is unknown if any filming will be done in any other towns.
-
Earlier in the year, Damon was pictured at The Garage in Stillwater and they posted the photo on their Twitter account. They joked that he was their newest employee, Mark Wahlberg.
