Mary Weaver

December 21, 1931 - March 3, 2025

The funeral service for Mary Cumi (Baldwin) Weaver, USAF veteran and 93-year-old Stillwater resident will be at 2:00pm Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Anderson-Burris Chapel with Jonathan Gilliland officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, Enid.

Mary was born December 21, 1931, in Waynesville, North Carolina to Nathan H. and Jessie (Green) Baldwin and passed from this earth on Monday, March 3, 2025, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

She graduated from Waynesville (NC) High School in 1950 and enlisted in the USAF upon graduation. While proudly serving her country, she met a young Airman who became the love of her life. Prior to their marriage, they both finished their 3 year commitment and left the military. While Jake re-enlisted and served 22 more years, Mary’s focus turned to being a wife and mother to Paula & Britt.

On February 24, 1957, she married Jacob M. Weaver of Ephrata, Pennsylvania. They celebrated 66 years of marriage in 2023 prior to his passing. Air Force assignments took them to New York, Mississippi, Illinois, England, Alabama, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Texas. They retired in Enid before relocating to Stillwater’s Golden Oaks Assisted Living in 2019. Mary loved reading and staying in touch with friends. Her memory was exceptional – even up to her final hours. More often than not, visitors would be asked, “Do you know this poem?” And then she would proceed to recite the lengthy poem from memory!

Mary was a long time member of First Baptist Church Enid – teaching the 5th-grade girls Sunday School class for 10 years, serving as Sunday School Director and Adult VII SS Department Director. She and Jake traveled all over the country with the Senior Adults - with Jake at the wheel of the bus.

Mary’s legacy of Christian service and her love of the Lord has now been entrusted to those who survive her - daughter Paula K. Jackson (Brad) of Stillwater, OK and son Britt A. Weaver (Betsey) of Edmond, OK. Grandchildren Peter Jackson (Nicole) of Celina, TX, Savannah Jackson of Oklahoma City, OK, Emma Horinek of Ark City, KS, Lara Horinek of Stillwater, OK, and Jake Weaver & Finn Weaver of Edmond, OK. Great-grandchildren Otto and Nellie Jackson of Celina, TX and numerous nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Jake, her parents, her sister Selma Morris and brothers Clyde Baldwin, Clayton Baldwin, Fred Baldwin & Doyle Baldwin.

The family would like to sincerely thank Golden Oaks Village, Stillwater for the extraordinary care shown to our parents for the past 6 years. The level of care and compassion went above and beyond. They would also like to thank Karman Legacy Hospice for the first-rate care over the past few weeks.
