The graveside service honoring and celebrating the life of Mary Beth (Hane) Roberts-Witt, 81, of Waukomis, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2021, in the Waukomis Cemetery, with Scott Maloney and Kris Mayberry co-officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Facebook Page.

Beth was born February 1, 1939, to Dick and Ida Hane in Enid, Oklahoma, and passed from this life January 29, 2021, in Enid, Oklahoma.

She was raised and educated in Waukomis, graduating with the class of 1957. She achieved her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern College and was elected Ranger Queen in 1959. She married Preston Roberts August 28, 1960. She achieved her master’s degree from Phillips University. She was a member of Kappa Delta Honor Society. She taught school in Kiowa, Kansas, for six years and had two sons, Dennis Preston Roberts and Donald LeRoy Roberts. She later married Perry Witt, May 26, 1989. She taught at Waukomis schools for many years until her retirement in 2000. She was a member of the Waukomis Methodist Church, Women’s Moose Group, and a member of Teachers Retirement Group (OEA-NEA). She received the Teacher of the Year award and also received a FFA Future Farmer award in 1986. She enjoyed teaching children to read, farm life, camping, and most of all her family.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis Preston Roberts, of Waukomis, and Donald LeRoy Roberts and wife Krista, and one granddaughter, Kelsey Roberts, of Enid.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be made to the Waukomis Elementary School in her name, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
