Marion Leon Wanzer

November 4, 1932 - September 13, 2020

Funeral service for Marion Wanzer, 87, of Enid, will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kelly Cronkhite and Pastor Robert Courtney officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, led by Pastor Wayne Sissons. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday evening 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Marion was born November 4, 1932 in Loyal, Oklahoma to Floyd Ferman and Lydia L. (Helzer) Wanzer and peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at his home in Enid, Ok.

He graduated Valedictorian from Loyal High School in 1950. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force and while stationed in southern California, met Janet Healey and were married on May 7, 1955 until her passing on April 21, 1993. He later married Loretta (Sissons) Branham on September 15, 1995.

Marion worked at Vance Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic and shop supervisor until his retirement of 34 years in December of 1994. Marion was a devout Christian and served the church in many capacities. He previously served as Deacon, Sunday school teacher, bible study leader, Church camp cook and went on several missionary trips building churches, homes and various structures. Marion was a member of Hillsdale Bible Church and also attended Chisholm Trail Cowboy Church. His smile will be deeply missed by his church family, friends and relatives.

He is survived by his wife Loretta of the home; children Vickie (Wanzer) Long and spouse Darren of Nashville, TN, Robert Wanzer and spouse Karen of Richardson, TX, Scott Wanzer and spouse Penny of Siloam Springs, AR, Tracy (Branham) Andersen and spouse Kevin of Hillsdale, OK, and Jennifer (Branham) Garcia and spouse Rudy of Weatherford, OK ; 8 grandchildren, Adam and Kelly Wanzer, Hannah (Wanzer) Bradford and spouse Andrew, Caleb and Melissa Wanzer, Luke and Michelle Wanzer, Martha Wanzer, Aaron Branham, Briana (Branham) Cuellar, Dayla Andersen; and 11 great grandchildren.

Marion is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Janet, daughter Cindy Cooper, sister Betty Vrska, and 3 brothers Floyd, Ferman, and Keith.

Memorials can be made to the Hillsdale Bible Church new construction project or to the Oklahoma Heart Hospital Research Foundation.
