Marianna Lee Kruse was born on August 26, 1938 in Enid, to Alfred and Eileen (Hare) Kruse and passed away on March 28, 2024 in Enid.

She began her educational journey at St. Paul’s grade school and later graduated from Enid High School. Marianna pursued her passion for nursing, graduating from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Wichita, Kansas. Her dedication led her to Germany, where she served as a nursing at a military hospital for three years, before returning to further her nursing education at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Upon returning to the United States, Marianna settled in Minneapolis Minnesota, where she worked as a surgical trauma nurse at North Memorial Hospital. She was a nurse for 43 years.

Beyond her career, Marianna found joy in simple pleasures. She cherished her time at her lake cabin, where she could often be found fishing or enjoying the company of beloved friends over card games. She had a knack for crossword puzzles and never missed a chance to play bingo. A devoted fan, Marianna cheered passionately for the Minnesota Vikings.

Several years ago, Marianna relocated back to Enid, Oklahoma to be closer to family. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Carol Kruse, life companion, Marlys Serota, special cousin, GJ Brune, and her cherished dogs, Abbey and Muffy.

She is survived by her cousins, Marlene Brune, along with Marlene’s daughter Jill and husband, Ghent Hopkins, their children and grandchildren. Marianna leaves behind numerous beloved friends and distant family members.

Marianna will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and zest for life. The family expresses gratitude to the staff at Greenbrier Nursing Home for their compassionate care during Marianna’s time there.
