Mass of Christian Burial for Maria “Luise” Melson, will be Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 2:00 pm in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Reverend Mark Mason celebrant. Recitation of the Rosary will be Tuesday at 1:30 pm at St. Francis. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Enid, under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Maria was born on October 30, 1940 in Kitzingen, Germany to Adolf and Sabine (Rossner) Weth and died on July 22, 2022 in Enid.
She grew up in Kitzingen and graduated from high school. On June 6, 1962, Maria married William “Allen” Melson, Jr in Kitzingen. They made their home in the Enid area. Maria was a home health aide for many years. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and volunteered at Our Daily Bread for many years. Maria was a member of the Moose Lodge #1740 since 1984.
Maria was preceded in death by her son, Billy; parents, and sister, Margaret.
She is survived by her husband, William “Allen” Melson; sons, Gerald Melson and Charles and wife, Gina Melson; two grandsons, Joshua and Michael Melson; two sisters, Ushi Engelbert and Lisalotte Weth; and many friends.
