Loveable Cats Need Home

2 cats

UPDATE: The cats now have a home!!!!

My name is Mary Jeffcoat, my husband's name is David. He has served in the US Air force for 12 years. We have move several times in his time in service and we now have a heartbreaking situations on our hands. We are truly sacrificing for our country right now!

We got our cats, Smoke and Fire at our first duty station in California in 2003. We have traveled with them to ALL of our change of stations. Currently we have orders to move to Misawa Japan and our cats have to pass an internationally accepted FAVN test to be able to enter the country.

The second we found out we had orders we had them at the vet's office to draw the blood work. They have always been fully vaccinated, they are microchipped, neutered, and have a clean bill of health. When we took them in for the FAVN blood draw we never even thought twice about what the results would be. Smoke (my black and white cat) passed the FAVN test with flying colors. Fire (my orange and white cat) did not.

I asked the vet what does that mean about his health and she said nothing. It just means the country isn't going to let him in. Well we opted to retest him (by spending another $100) and the test takes 3-weeks to get back from Kansas. We got the second test result back and he failed the FAvn test again! Now we are up a creek without a paddle. Or in the situation about to leave the country on military orders and have no home for our babies. Thanks so much for your time.
