Louis Lavicky

May 21, 1936 — January 31, 2025

A Celebration of Life Service for Louis J. Lavicky, age 88, of Cherokee, will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Alfalfa County Fair Grounds with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army Honor Guard. Cremation and service arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Louis was born May 21, 1936 in Garber, OK to Charles R. and Alma L. (Theilen) Lavicky and passed away at his home January 31, 2025. He attended and graduated from Enid High School in 1954. He entered the U.S. Marines in 1954, and was honorably discharged in 1959. He entered the U.S. Army in 1960, and was honorably discharged and retired on February 2, 1976. During his military career he was able to see lots of countries. He married Stella Kinney on May 7, 1960 in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. As a child he helped his father in his construction business. They moved to Cherokee in 1977. Louis started Lavicky Farm Equipment in 1977 and worked on heavy equipment for over 47 years. Louis enjoyed traveling with family and going to Little Rock to spend time with family. He enjoyed going to the casinos. Louis was a collector of eagle statues and was a strong Republican. Louis had a favorite saying “ If it doesn’t have work involved leave it alone”.

Louis is survived by his wife Stella of the home, children; Wesley(Linda) Lavicky, Connie Horner, Doug (Tina) Lavicky, Charlie (Vickie) Lavicky, Paulette ( Randy) Klick, and Louis Lavicky, Jr., grandchildren; Melissa, Kayla, David, Lisa, Laura, Michael, Clinton, T. J., Douglas, Anthony, Caleb, Chris, Cody, Casey, Breanna, Alyssa, Amberlyn, Kayti, great grandchildren; Kyla, Chandler, Landon, Emma, Sarah, Alex, Stephen, Abby, Cole, Zoey, Mikey, Serenity, MacKensey, Lane, Rylee, Destiny, Phoenix, Dalley, Roper, Tripp; great-great grandchildren; Mason, Maddy, Maverick, Saige, Scarlett, and Parklyn, siblings; Betty Chodrick, Pat (Larry) Bixler, Nancy (Butch) Buchholz, Vernie Lavicky, Julie (Charlie) Cagle, and David (Suzanne) Lavicky, Sister in law Helga Lavicky, brothers-in-law, Jim Coleman and Bill Longacre and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents and siblings, Frances and Ernest Schulz, Charles Lavicky Jr, Louise Coleman, Lydia and Phillip Garis, Harvey Lavicky, and Rose Longacre and brother-in-law Bill Chodrick.
