OI478723100_KennethSmithPictureKenneth Ray Smith, 65, passed from this life in Ponca City, on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016. He was born Aug. 28, 1950, in Waco, Texas, he lived in Oakland, Calif. before settling in Ponca City. He worked at Cameron, formerly known as Nickles Machine Shop, as a machinist until he retired in 2014.

He is survived by his wife, Regina; daughter, Nicole Stewart, of Texas; grandson, Nicolas Swygert, of Texas; mother, Annie Ola Smith, of California; mother-in-law, Barbara J. Young, of Oklahoma; two sisters, Doris and husband Roosevelt Allen, of Texas and Mary Janice Smith, of California; brother, Adam Mitchell Smith and wife Helen, of Arizona; sisters-in-law, Barbara L. Young, Oklahoma and Mazella Boulden, of Texas; brother-in-law, Alan Young, of Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Adam Smith and brother, Vertna Smith.
Kenneth was a child of God. He had a very strong faith. The Smith family has worshipped and served at Woodlands Christian Church for over 26 years. He was an avid football fan. The San Francisco 49ers was his favorite team. He was also a great supporter of the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

He loved to travel. During his marriage of 31 years to Regina they have driven many miles to see the United States. Kenneth had a love of family and life. He very much wanted to make those he loved happy. He enjoyed a good joke, great meal and good music. He will be missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Woodlands Christian Church.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at Woodlands Christian Church, Saturday, Jan. 30, with the Rev. Marilyn L. Merle, officiating. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.
